Garmin built the quatix 8 Pro around a simple problem: cell signal dies a few miles offshore. The new flagship of its marine smartwatch line packs inReach satellite messaging and LTE cellular into a 47mm case, so mariners can text, call, or trigger an SOS from the wrist up to 50 miles out with no phone aboard. The other smart addition is an upgraded Boat Mode that reads the room. On the water, vessel apps like autopilot control, trolling motor status, and live boat data sit front and center. Back at the gym or the office, they tuck away behind everyday health and fitness features.
