Garmin improves battery life in new update for watch-style wearable

An update for the Garmin Descent G2 watch-style dive computer is currently rolling out to users. This wearable, launched in February 2025 , was last updated with system software 23.49. This earlier release from late 2025 tackled issues linked to the InReach remote and InReach SOS pages, and ANT connection stability. Now, Garmin Descent G2 users are getting more bug fixes in system software 25.14 . According to the change log, the update resolves an issue which could cause the wearable’s battery to drain at a faster-than-expected rate. Unfortunately, the company does not quantify the battery life improvement as a result of this bug fix.
